vacation

November 29, 2006

Harper and I returned yesterday from our trip to Minnesota (and it was warm there! Like unseasonably warm!) I’ll share more of a recap later (when I’ve caught up on my sleep), but I thought I’d start with these 2 photos. One of my favorite things about rural Minnesota is the unobstructed views of the horizon, so here’s a sunrise photo taken at my parents’ farm, and a sunset photo taken overlooking Clear Lake.

Anyhoo, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! I helped Mom decorate the house for Christmas, which will have to give me my Christmas “fix” for a few more weeks until after we move BECAUSE WE SOLD OUR HOUSE! Sorry Brandy, I should have given you more warning… So whohooo for that, and safe travels, and good times with family, and the celebration of Advent which is almost upon us…

snow, snow, snow

Fallin’ on our faces…

Oh my word, it’s snowing! I believe I said that outloud when I happened to look out our front door this morning. Good thing we just bought new hats for winter!

Obviously we have not purchased mittens yet…

forgot this one

Cole snapped this shot just as Harper turned to give me a kiss…

Yesterday

November 9, 2006

Yesterday was perfectly overcast..but not yet rainy. We had to be out of the house for an hour for a showing, and with Harper still sick, I didn’t want to contaminate anyone else. So we went to the park. (A little fresh air is good, right?)

We’ve got his vote

November 8, 2006

So yesterday we took our sick selves to the polls (Cole, Harper, and I, that is.) Harper was quiet the entire time we waited in line, thanks to an optimal amount of snacks and the stroller. I explained a little of the voting process to Cole, and he was excited to be able to cast his own vote at the Kids Vote corner in the building. I told him that he needed to put an “x” by the pictures of the people that he was voting for. So he very fairly put an “x” by each person’s photo and then cast his ballot. He was a little disappointed that he didn’t get to help me cast my vote but I didn’t want to risk him pushing any of the wrong buttons! Anyway, after we got home, he said he had some “homework” to do. Later on he showed me this picture.

Mark’s on the right and I’m on the left, and it should be noted that there is an “x” by each of our pictures. I’m just going to assume that means we have Cole’s vote for parents. ; )

turning 4

It’s good to turn four over a weekend – seems to extend the birthday festivities…

Have I told you how much I love weddings?
In particular, how I love to photograph them?
love, love, love them.
Love to work as a team with Mark.
Love to capture those happy, genuine moments that make me smile as I proof the photos.
It makes me happy to be part of such a special day for others.
