Hello! I'm Joanna, author of this photo journal. My husband, Mark, and I are professional photographers in Asheville, North Carolina. The name of our company, Tuesday's Frog, is based on an almost-wordless children's book about mischievous frogs that go flying on lily pads one night. We love this book because the illustrations are truly the heart of the story. Speaking of mischievous, Cole & Harper are our children, and frequent, though not always willing, photography subjects. Here you'll find not only the stories of our everyday lives, but of those we've photographed in our capacity as professional photographers as well.
Miss Evie was definitely ready for her photo shoot – doesn’t she seem very camera aware for being all of 12 days old?

The last family I photographed in 2009 also happens to be the first family I photographed in 2010! This time with a new addition in their hands…

What a wonderful way to start off January! Welcome to this world, baby boy!

Also, I do think the back cover is pretty cute this month… You can find a copy of WNC Parent at your local library, preschool, school, or grocery store, along with a bunch of other locations in the area.

We headed outside for the second half of the session…nice, cozy, and humid…
…like a jungle, in fact! (I knew that banana tree would come in handy at some point!)
Life is better when you’re surrounded by friends.
He slept…
…oh so briefly…
…and then he was wide awake! Oh my goodness what a sugar plum! Look at those blue eyes!
Speaking of beautiful eyes, big sister Gracie was on the scene…
…giving Helms a little attention and love.

…slightly peely skin – a good reminder of just how new he is to this world!
Will is so smart! Instead of turning toward the light, like most babies, his attention was directed at the chatter in the room of his 3 older siblings…
…after all, who would want to miss a minute of that sweet love?
Just a quick sneak peek for Julia of a pose she requested…this is baby Will, 10 days old. Harper thought I said his name was “Baby Little” so she calls him “Baby Wittle.” More to come of Will on Monday…
Oooh, yeah…that cute! Except…
…well, she wasn’t that happy to see me.
So we compromised. I didn’t call her “Rubylicious” anymore (as anyone can plainly see, her namy is RUBY.)
…and after a new diaper and a little bit to eat she bestowed her happy countenance upon me. As long as she was facing the light…
…and I didn’t put the blanket in her face or make her sneeze…
…and I let her stick her feet out because she’d just been through a 44-hour labor a few weeks ago and after being wedged in the womb for that long she wasn’t going to bend her knees ever again…
…and we had to play hide ‘n seek.
So all in all, a pretty good visit.
