cover girl

Guess who’s the cover girl for the September issue of WNC Parent? She also happens to be the birthday girl, as she’ll be turning ONE this weekend!
Hello! I'm Joanna, author of this photo journal. My husband, Mark, and I are professional photographers in Asheville, North Carolina. The name of our company, Tuesday's Frog, is based on an almost-wordless children's book about mischievous frogs that go flying on lily pads one night. We love this book because the illustrations are truly the heart of the story. Speaking of mischievous, Cole & Harper are our children, and frequent, though not always willing, photography subjects. Here you'll find not only the stories of our everyday lives, but of those we've photographed in our capacity as professional photographers as well.

Somebunny is ready for Easter! (Oh yes, we had to — it’s tradition!)
Happy Easter, everyone!
For the most part, life at 4.5 months is happy.
You’ve found your hands and mastered spit bubbles…
…and are very proud of being able to roll over. So much so that you want to do it over and over!
However, you’ve also discovered those things called teeth…teething is not so fun.
Yes, that tooth, down there. Okay, you can’t see it yet, but it’s there, I tell you, it’s there…
Which is why it’s good to have your mommy around…not to mention a few extra fingers to chew on…
…and sometimes you just want to veg…
…or cry, and that’s okay, too.

Little Larky is 3 months old already! Is she not A-dorable? (I might be biased!) Even though we had to do this shoot indoors (stinkin’ weather) we still managed to have a good time. Although she looks a little bored in that second shot…I guess she’s over the whole photo thing already.

Taken last week – just hanging out in the grass while her aunt (yes, me) is supposedly babysitting her. Good thing Cole & Harper were along to supervise.
I could stare at that sweet little face all day long…
…so many different expressions…
…and movements (contortions).

There, there, all better. : )
We headed outside for the second half of the session…nice, cozy, and humid…
…like a jungle, in fact! (I knew that banana tree would come in handy at some point!)
Life is better when you’re surrounded by friends.
